The Himalayas are not merely a geographical feature, a range of mountains. they epitomise a people's civilisational identity that goes back to the dawn of history. If these majestic mountains were not there, the rain clouds sweeping up from the Indian Ocean would have passed over the Indian subcontinent into central Asia leaving it a burning desert.

Nagaland Tours

Nagaland ToursNagaland with an area of 16,488 Sq.Kms of rich green hills, glistening streams and cascading waterfalls became a state in 1963 and was formed out of the previous Naga Hills Tuesnsang Area (NHTA). The state is comprised of 14 major tribes who have distinct dialects, cultures and traditions.

A small state bordered by Myanmar to its east, Assam to the north, Arunachal in the north east and Manipur to its south. This picturesque destination offers the visitor a glimpse into an ancient culture ensconced in a land of green valleys, forested hillsides, and diverse vegetation. Nourishing a rich variety of flora and fauna, Nagaland's higher reaches at heights of 3000 – 4000 feet are rich in thick Pine forests. April and May herald the spring with delightful wild orchids in a blaze of colour.

The Barail hill range extending from the south-west via North Cachar region climbs up to Kohima, with Nagaland's highest peak – Peak Japvo towering to a height of 3,048 metres. The Naga culture and traditions are still followed faithfully and you can experience this unique tribal ambience as we visit different villages and interact with these brave people. Today Nagaland offers the visitor numerous destinations for holidays and adventures and Tribal Discovery sees that you have a whale of a time in this timeless land.

Climate:
The beginning of winter is marked by a steep fall (almost 5 degree Centigrade) in temprature during December. January is the coldest month. In February, the temperature starts rising gradually. The monsoon lasts for five months from May to September with June, July and May, being the wettest months. The annual rainfall varies from 100 cm to over 300 cm.
