Malana is an unusual village set amidst the backdrop of towering mountain peaks and relatively isolated. Steeped in legend, one story has it that the inhabitants are the descendants of lost soldiers from Alexander's army. The people still believe in their own laws and do not allow the use of leather within their village. Today with a Hydel project close by development is slowly creeping in. The architecture of the buildings is distinct and so are the people. Evening return to camp.
