Uttarakhand Whitewater RaftingIn Garhwal, the sacred river Ganga offers the professional as well as the amateur the exhilaration of whitewater river rafting. The rivers Alakananda & Bhagirathi are the main tributaries of the Ganga and meet Devprayag, frothing from their racy descent. Their waters are grade IV to V, challenging the expert to survive the thrill. Down river from Devprayag, the Ganga changes into a pool drop river.

This stretch of almost 70-kms is a perfect for the amateur and the novice, for here the river offers some fine grade III rapids and two grade IV rapids, the 'WALL' at Bysi and the 'Golf Course' 4-kms. Below Shivpuri village; each followed by deep and placid pools. Sandy beaches line the river at intervals, allowing river rafters to pull up alongside. The slopes on either side are covered with oak, pine, spruce and fir, with the occasional village and its terraced fields dotting the landscape. Wildlife can be sighted at a distance, especially spotted Deer, Monkeys, Leopard, while multi hued butterflies flit among flowering.

Ganges River has always remains a mystery for explorers and full of surprises for the rafters. Ganga near Rishikesh in Uttaranchal is a popular spot for white water river rafting. The whitewater river rafting stretch of the Ganges is from Kaudiyala to Rishikesh where the river has 12 major rapids over 36-kms long, most of which are easily negotiable and some require our expertise

Tour Highlights
The rafting camp, is located on the Rishikesh - Devprayag road within 5-6 hours driving time from Delhi on the banks of the river Ganga, on a sandy river beach and a portion of riverside forest. An excellent getaway from city stress - the tented river camp offers you a real outdoor experience with white water rafting at its very best, camp games, solitude, kayaking, abseiling, good food and new found friends. Accommodation in twin bedded tents. You will be surprised at the quality and variety the cook offers. This trip is an outdoor wilderness experience in a league of its own.

The 36 km rafting section from Kaudiyala till short of Rishikesh can be rafted in 2-3 days. The camp caters to individuals, families and corporates. The camp also provides an excellent getaway for corporate team outings and training programmes.

1. 2-day raft 1 night camp - (2 raft trips, 5 meals, 1 night at camp) - Rs. 3500

2. 2-day raft 2 night camp - (2 raft trips, 6 meals, 2 nights at camp)- Rs. 4000 3. 3-day raft 2 night camp - 3 raft trips, 7 meals, 2 nights at camp) - Rs. 4600 4. 3-day Bhagirathi blast - (90 kms expedition style, 3 days 2 nights) - Rs. 7500

Cost includes : Tented accommodation on twin share, all meals, use of rafting equipment, professional guide fee, soft drinks.

Cost excludes : Transport to camp and back, expenses of a personal nature. Miscellaneous Rates/day
